Audience Aim - Lucy
After having a discussion about the plot of the film Leah, Abbie and I decided on rating the film 'Duncan Barnes' an 18. We decided this due to the extreme violence and strong language that occurs from the start and throughout the whole film, so we want to aim our film at 18 year olds and + that love thrillers.

Location & Costume, Day 1 - Leah
Here is the first location that we used we wanted to show an urban setting and also fit the description of the teenage character. This shows how rough the place where these teenage kids live resulting in them terrorising Duncan.
Here is one of the character in the location. Fitting in to the chosen location.
Location - Leah and Lucy
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
We decided to base our filming in Tilgate because there are plenty of ideal, open spaces that we want our youths to hang out in. Here are some of the places we plan to shoot in -
We are planning to shoot our first shot in the location shown above, it is an underpass beneath a main road. It is quite an empty place where youths could be pictured to hang out in, this location definitely would add to the atmosphere by tying in a bit of fear from the start.
This picture shows the back side of a shopping parade, its very quiet and usually empty making it a realistic place for the teens to be in.
This final picture shows where our last shots on the 'handheld camera' and the CCTV shots will take place. We will be using one of these houses to do shooting inside of the protagonist but we will also be filming the youths from inside the house to show that he is watching and taking note of what they are doing.

Props List - Lucy
Here is a list of all the props we will be using during our thriller opening:
- Video Camera/Camera- We will not be using this video camera to film actual footage but are using it as a prop to show that the man is recording outside his house, to make sure each move of the youths is recorded. We want the camera to look a bit like this one; standard, compact and digital.- Letter (abuse written on it) - This letter is going to be posted through the door with abuse written on it from the youths to Duncan. We want it to say something along the lines of "We'll get you one day", "You can't hide in there forever" or maybe just normal everyday slang such as "You're retarded, we're gonna kill you"

Teen Costumes - Abbie
We want to portray the teenagers as low class. To achieve this, we have a rough idea of what clothes we want our actors to wear. Here are a few images of the ideas we have.
For girls:
For girls:
![]() |
| Type of Scarf we want our actors to wear. We believe this would be a good idea as it's not associated with the 'upper class' we achieves our aim to make them look lower class. |
![]() |
| We would like our actors to wear clothing like this (matching tracksuit) |
Stereotypically female 'chavs' tend to wear large earings with diamontes on them like the pair above so we will be trying to find a similar pair for our actresses.
For boys:
This is the style of hat we want our actors to wear. It's a fake version of a Burberry hat showing that they obviously don't have the money to buy the real thing adding to the stereotypical image of a 'chav'.
Along with this they will also be wearing tracksuit bottoms with a hoodie/jumper in dark colours.
They will also be wearing cheap looking trainers.
We chose these types of costumes as we want the teenagers to look like "thugs" and the type of people to be from working class families and therefore people that have nothing better to do than to harass and old man as they are less likely to be in education.
